As associate provost for academic affairs, Yahya Lakys received his BSc in electrical engineering from the Lebanese University in 2003, his MSc in telecommunications from the University of Rennes in 2004, and his PhD in electronics from the University of Bordeaux in 2009. Before joining the American University of the Middle East, he worked at the Institut d’Électronique Fondamentale, University of Paris-Sud on the design of spintronics-based integrated circuits, then at Atmel Corporation, where he worked on the design of radiation hardened circuits for aerospace applications. Communication technologies and artificial intelligence are among his current research interests.
